A degree in psychology can benefit those students interested in a career in a health profession. Current students in the psychology major have an array of pre-health professional interests such as: Occupational Therapy, Genetic Counseling, Nursing, Physician’s Assistant and of course Psychologist. The psychology academic advisers work with students on how they are best able to combine their interests in psychology and a health profession. There are advisers at Penn State who specialize in the pre-health professions and a student interested in these areas should work with both a psychology academic adviser and a pre-health adviser during their time at Penn State.
