Research Interests: Temperament, emotional development, psychobiological processes, environmental risk and protective factors.
Kristin Buss is interested in development of emotions, emotion regulation and temperamental variation from infancy to adolescence. Her work is interdisciplinary incorporates multiple methods of research to examine developmental processes and uncover mechanisms that identify risk for anxiety symptom development. Her previous work has demonstrated significant effects for types of situations where children show fear, attentional mechanisms and specific physiological profiles which increases risk for social anxiety in childhood. The current work extends these findings and focuses on social anxiety risk across adolescence.
