Professional Bio

Tiyobista Maereg is a fifth-year developmental area graduate student in Dr. Dawn Witherspoon's lab. She received her B.A. in Psychology and Political Science at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Tiyobista's research interest is focused on examining the impact of family, neighborhood, and school contexts on the ethnic-racial identity development of Black adolescents and how this process affects their academic outcomes.
