Professional Bio

Madison is a fourth-year graduate student in Developmental Psychology working with Dr. Rina Eiden. She graduated from the University of Oregon with degrees in Psychology and Spanish in 2019. She spent her undergraduate career studying the biobehavioral effects of maltreatment and the efficacy of Parent Child Interaction Therapy for maltreating families with Dr. Elizabeth Skowron. Madison's master’s research examined the effect of prenatal maternal mood unpredictability and substance use on parenting and toddler outcomes. Her current research interests include biobehavioral mechanisms of risk and resilience in families who have experienced adversity. Madison's is particularly interested in the intergenerational transmission of risk from caregiver to child during pregnancy and infancy for substance using families.
