Madison is a second-year graduate student in Developmental Psychology working with Drs. Rina Eiden and Erika Lunkenheimer. She graduated from the University of Oregon with a B.A. in Psychology and Spanish in 2019. She spent her undergraduate career studying the biobehavioral effects of maltreatment and the efficacy of Parent Child Interaction Therapy for maltreating families with Dr. Elizabeth Skowron. Madison’s research interests include physiological mechanisms of risk and resilience in children who have experienced early adversity, the effects of substance use and psychopathology on parenting quality, and parenting practices in maltreating populations. In particular, she is focused on investigating mechanisms through which parental psychopathology and substance abuse affect parenting behavior.
