Hunter is a first-year graduate student in the Developmental Psychology program working with Dr. Scherf. She graduated from the University of Mount Union, Alliance, Ohio in May 2019 with a bachelor's of neuroscience where she studied behavioral differences in individuals with autism spectrum disorder with focus on sex differences. Hunter graduated from Saint Joseph's University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in May 2021 where she spent her time researching sex differences in social and emotional insight in adolescents with focus on individuals with autism. Additionally, she worked in the Kinney Center for Autism Education and Support as a peer mentor to college students with autism who were college freshmen and sophomores. Her interests lie in furthering the understanding of the autistic female phenotype and other under researched groups in autism such as young adults. She hopes to further this knowledge by including biological methods of research such as eye tracking, face processing and neuroimaging in addition to psychological methods. She is excited to start the program and to assist in various projects increasing what is known about autism spectrum disorder with the goal of supporting autistic individuals.
