Anna earned her PhD in 2017 at the University of Heidelberg, Germany, focusing on transgenerational effects of maternal psychiatric disorder and early life maltreatment. Her aim was to investigate potential pathways of transmission of adverse early life experiences, such as behavioral parent-child interaction and HPA-axis activity. During her time as a post-doc and deputy head at the Section for Translational Psychobiology in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Heidelberg, she integrated her clinical training and her interest in parent-child interactions by focusing on bio-behavioral synchrony in clinical and non-clinical parent-child dyads. As a post-doctoral fellow in Erika Lunkenheimer’s Parent-Child-Dynamics Lab she is now extending her dyadic research focus by investigating parent-child HRV-coregulation in context of risk.
