Laboratory courses for General Education

The College of Liberal Arts requires that at least one Natural Sciences course taken to complete the General Education NS requirement include a laboratory component. As of the last update of this page, the courses approved for this laboratory requirement are:

  • ANTH 021 (taken after SP01)
  • ASTRO 011, 90
  • BIOL 011/012, 027, 101, 102, 110, 22OW, 230W, 240W
  • CHEM 002, 011, 012/014, 013/015, 013/017
  • GEOG 010, 110, 115
  • GEOSC 002, 020, 021 (taken FA79-SU95 ONLY), 040
  • METEO 003/003P
  • MICRB 106/107
  • PHYS 150, 202, 204, 211, 222, 250, 251
  • S T S 201

Other courses not on this list may be considered if a lab component was part of the course. Students should discuss substitution requests with an adviser, and must provide a copy of the course syllabus.
