Welcome to the Emotion Pre-Conference Website
The Emotion Pre-Conference, now in its seventh year, is an annual event where social and personality psychologists can learn about recent trends in affective science, discuss ongoing debates in emotion research, and join a community of like-minded scholars.
Date:
Thursday, January 26, 2012
Time:
8:30 am to 4:30 pm
Location:
Rooms 31B and 31C, San Diego Convention Center (SDCC), San Diego, CA, USA
This year's meeting should be especially exciting, promising another terrific speaker line-up. The preconference will explore the fundamental (or not-so-fundamental) role of emotion in social and personality processes. We will have two invited addresses, one by Roy Baumeister and the other by Gerald Clore. We'll also host two symposia and a poster session. The first symposium features Tony Manstead, Michelle “Lani” Shiota, and Richard Petty, addressing the central role of emotion in social influence processes. The final symposium will feature William Cunningham, Kristen Lindquist, and Joan Chiao addressing unique contributions of neuroscience to emotion theory. See Speakers for more info.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact one of the pre-conference organizers: José Soto, Reg Adams, or Max Weisbuch.
