about extra credit points for test
1. Where are the questions for the
required responses to the reading found in the reading packets?
The questions proceed
the articles in the reading packet.
2. I was sick (or some other valid
reason) and couldn't make it to class. Can I still turn in my response to
the questions in the reading assignments?
No. You can do the make up assignment
noted in the syllabus and in noted next.
3. Can I make up points for missing
from the required reading assignments?
Yes. You can find an article to
review. You need to follow the guidelines for writing the review which
can be found at http://psych.la.psu.edu/jswim/Psych475/Journal_article_review.htm
and the summary needs to be turned in within a week of the reading packet the assignment
it is replacing.
4. Can I write article summaries to
make up for points missed on required reading packet assignments even if I
turned in the responses to the questions for the required reading.
Yes, but you still need to follow the
guidelines for writing the summary found at http://psych.la.psu.edu/jswim/Psych475/Journal_article_review.htm
and you need to turn it in within a week within a week of the reading packet
assignment it is replacing.
5. How many summaries of articles can
I do?
You can do as many as you want but the
points awarded will not exceed the number of points possible for any responses
to the required readings in the reading packet. They also need to be
turned in within a week of the reading packet assignment it is replacing.
1. Can I use summaries of journal
articles (either one's I've found or those listed as optional in the syllabus)
for extra credit on the test?
No. The summaries of journal articles
are used for replacement points for the reading packets.
2. Can I use extra credit points for
reading packet assignments?
No. Extra credit points can only be
applied to tests.
3. How many extra credit points can I
accumulate? Can they be applied to future test?
You can accumulate 20 extra credit points
over the course of the semester (equivalent to one-half a test score).
4. If I write a multiple choice
question during class, do I get credit even if it isn't used on the test?
Yes. You get credit for writing a
question that could be useable on the test as a multiple choice question.
(True/False questions do not count.)

page paper on a topic covered over the test. You must contact the
instructor for a list of topics.

5. Does the paper need to be in APA
format?
Yes. Practically, this means that you
should use headings and include references in the text and include a reference
list.
6. Can I do a paper to replace a test
and turn it in before the scheduled test time.
No, you need to do the paper within a week
after the test. For the last test, you will have to turn it in within two
days of the last test because I need to turn in grades within 48 hours of the
final.
