The staff of The Psychological Clinic at Penn State is dedicated to providing our clients with the highest standard of professional care. The clinic is a comprehensive outpatient mental health facility with three primary missions:

  1. To provide psychological and psychiatric services to individuals and agencies in Cente County and the surrounding areas
  2. To provide training for graduate students in clinical psychology
  3. To conduct "state-of-the-art" research in order to develop new and more effective ways of helping clients cope with the difficulties they face.

Because we operate as the training facility for one of the leading clinical psychology departments in the nation, our professional staff includes the faculty in clinical psychology, adjunct faculty, and psychiatrists who hold clinical appointments in the Department of Psychology. These individuals hold doctoral degrees (Ph.D., M.D.) and are licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. They serve as clinical supervisors to the staff clinicians, composed of graduate students enrolled in the clinical psychology doctoral training program.

The clinic is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare as an Outpatient Psychiatric Clinic and accepts referrals from individuals and various community agencies. We operate, in part, as a contracted provider for Cente County's Mental Health/Mental Retardation and Drug and Alcohol Program and receive referrals from the Base Service Unit (BSU) in Bellefonte. Thus, some of our services are funded in part under an agreement with Centre County.

A schedule of fees for clinic services may be obtained by calling the clinic receptionist at (814) 865-2191. We accept payments from MH/MR, Medical Assistance, Medicare and many insurance plans, including Value Options and CIGNA.

Services are provided without regard to race, gender, color, religion, handicap, ancestry, national origin, age, or sexual orientation.
