Dr. Alicia J. Knoedler is currently the Assistant Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations, located in the basement of Old Main. She specializes in assisting faculty, postdocs, and graduate students with identifying and applying for funding through private foundations. She is also able to assist with the conceptual development of research programs and projects, as they pertain seeking funding from any type of sponsor. Jen Hillebrand began
working in Research Administration when she was hired as a Program Administrator
in the Office of Sponsored Programs at Drexel University in Philadelphia,
PA in May 2003. While in this position, she provided a wide range of preaward
and postaward services for 11 university departments, such as monitoring funding
opportunities and providing program information to interested faculty and
staff; acting as primary liaison with the Office for Research; acquiring all
grant application materials and internal approvals prior to submission while
meeting sponsor deadlines; preparing budgets; and assisting faculty with proposal
development and providing project oversight throughout the funding lifecycle.
She also maintained multiple internal databases; reviewed and negotiated awards;
and produced subawards and other contractual agreements. In addition, she
worked with Grants Accounting personnel to monitor grant fund draws and other
paperwork required for prompt closeout.
In May 2005, Jen Hillebrand was hired as Grants Development Specialist in
the College of the Liberal Arts Research Office at PSU. In this position,
she helps identify funding sources for faculty research and assists in the
development of collaborative and transdisciplinary faculty research groups.
With respect to proposal preparation and submission, she prepares budgets
and supporting proposal documentation; identifies funding agency guidelines,
copies and packages proposals, obtains all signatures required on PSU proposal
clearance forms, and provides electronic research administration.
